Who we are
A community that shows up for its kids
Kiwanis is a worldwide family of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Our club is the South Oakland County chapter of that mission — neighbors who meet, plan and roll up their sleeves to make life a little brighter for local young people.
We're small, we're local, and we're powered entirely by people who care. That's the whole secret.

What we do
Programs that put kids first
Every dollar and every hour goes straight to work for young people right here in our community. Two initiatives are especially close to our hearts.

Supporting Youth
Standing with young people in foster care and those aging out of the system.
Some of the kids who need us most are the ones moving through foster care — and the young adults who suddenly age out of the system with little to fall back on.
Explore our programsFostering the Arts
Opening the door to music, creativity and the arts for local kids.
The arts build confidence, focus and joy — and they are often the first thing cut when budgets get tight. Fostering the Arts is our commitment to keeping creative opportunities within reach for young people across South Oakland County.
The bigger picture
Three ways Kiwanis makes a difference
A better community for children
Kiwanis exists to improve the world one child and one community at a time. Everything our club does points back to the kids and families of South Oakland County.
Hands-on service projects
Members give their time to local projects throughout the year — the kind of work that is easy to overlook but makes a neighborhood stronger.
Fellowship and leadership
Kiwanis is also friendship. We meet, we plan, we roll up our sleeves together, and we grow the next generation of community leaders along the way.
